Team 10 confronts sex offender accused in credit repair scam

VISTA, Calif. – The sex offender at the center of a Team 10 investigation finally had to face the camera.

Art Nuno is accused of ripping off people through investment deals and a bogus credit repair business.

Team 10 Troubleshooter Cristin Severance was waiting as he showed up to court in Vista Wednesday.

Nuno is a registered offender for continuous sexual abuse of a child and indecent exposure. Team 10 wanted to know about his business deals.

Lucia Rubio said she gave Nuno $8,000 to invest in two companies. She said got nothing in return. The retired seamstress said he wiped out her savings.

Kirk Carmichael said he gave him $3,000 to repair his credit. He paid in full and never got help or a call back.

The first time Team 10 went to question Nuno, he closed the blinds and hid in the office.

Nuno was arrested in August for failing to register his address, and he had to appear in court Wednesday.

In court, Nuno asked three different times if the bailiffs would throw Team 10 out of courtroom, but they did not.

After the hearing, Nuno ran through the courthouse at full speed into the parking lot and then into a construction site.

Team 10 followed as he went down a dirt road, onto a side street and to a friend#39;s truck.

Team 10 will keep trying to question Nuno until he talks or his clients get their money back.

The claims against Nuno were taken to the San Diego County Sheriff#39;s Department and the district attorney#39;s office.
